Oh, Battlestar galactica and the Pegasus !
I'm a great fan of this serie and especially this period
I didn't remember her name !
Well maybe a little...
That's funny because I have not watched an episode since a long time. Sometimes, when you draw, you are influenced by the things that you like. And you discover it later : "Damned!, the character I've drawn looks like XXXXX" or "Wow this scene looks like this movie".
I guess that we are the sum of what we love. And sometimes it appears in our artworks.
And now I have to work... but you've given me the envy of watching my dvds
And now thanks to a computer graphics class I am taking right now I can appricate your artwork even more!
Its been a while since I've read/listened to Honor Among Enemies but the second I saw this cover I reconized what it was.
The detail on the ships is amazing, espcially the Q-ship. If I remember a quote for the book correctly, they were 'eggshells armed with sledgehammers' and this definitely shows how fragile Honor's ship really was against a real warship.
I love the detail on Honor's face and the harsh lighting as well, very high contrast the draws the eye. Oh and look at that you got the rank pin right as well.
While I don't know if I like the whole right hand upper corner being pure blinding white, it does work (since that is the direction the lighting in the whole artwork is coming from.)
And I know this probably a bit late, but if your wondering, blue and white are the offical Winton colors. (I rememer reading in one of the books that they sting ships painted those 'offical' colors.)
it's nice to hear some news from you
Well, yes, that's too late, the illustration is finished since 2 weeks
At present I work on the second cover for "A rising thunder"
Have a nice day, and I wish you the best for school
I prefer what I perceive as the richer colours seen on concertart.org when it differs. I know saving it as a JPEG can produce artifacts, but I didn't know it can subtly change the colour scheme too.
I didn't make my pictures for Deviant art and for conceptart.org at the same moment.
For one website the illustration was in rgb when I did the jpg, for the other it was in cymb. So, two jpg of a same illustration can present different colors...
