Great Kaja can only be handled by Victor the man, everyone else is just meatbag ("Hordes of dead admirers", any brave souls dare to illustrate the expression of Ruth and the Amazons when they see... you know).

Is that the way you guys see Thandi Palane?   I envisioned more of an albino all the way around, but with crinkly hair.  Very pale, washed out skin, light eyes...but definitely not dark skin.   The sun decreed otherwise!

Mmmm... I don't know this title.

But I don't understand because... when I look on the web I see that it's not a Weber's book. It was written by William H. Keith's novel...

I love it... I love it... I love it... The crusier is amazing. The details are fantastic.
The ships you draw are perfect! They have great details, look realistic enough to be real, and always add that dramatic flare that the US covers seem to be lacking.

And I wish the US covers would try their hand at illstrating the characters more. As much as I like the weird looking space station on the cover of the US Crown of Slaves... the next cover(Torch of Freedom) is more or less the same station by different artist. It's boring, and the cover wasn't exactly drawing me in when I bought it. It was more like a pain, because it looked so boring.

But enough with my rant...
You captured the expressions of Ruth and Berry really well. And I like Ruth's dress. It's so pretty, I want it. (In spite of the well known fact that I do not like dresses and prefer uniforms/ jeans over dresses... XP)

And only one question for this cover:
The two standing behind Ruth, Am I correct in assuming they are Victor and Thandi Palane?

Happy... Happy... Really happy... :)

On the next cover, you'll see some Q-ships. I hope that you'll like them. It was not easy to find plans of them on the web but i've found them, at last.

If you don't like dresses BUT you would like to have this one... well, i guess that it's the "supreme compliment" ;)

And yes, you're right, they are Victor and Thandi Palane :)

Have a nice day :)

Personally, I think you drew Thandi as too dark. Remember, the book states plainly that she's so pale as to be almost albino, due to the genetic tinkering her ancestors went in for when they first landed on the Mfecane hell-worlds. The facial features are good, on the other hand.

No it was natural selection that made them pale, 80% infant mortality due to rickets will have that effect. But you're right, she's not pale enough, and also too short.

I agree. I should have drawn her with a clearer skin.

She's also much too small — Victor is actually quite short, so she ougt to towers over him, but here they're almost of the same height. Otherwise, fantastic, simply fantastic.

This is my favorite yet of your truely immense emotions behind the characters, and the detail of the, I'm guessing, Manticorian Cruiser is fantastic. New phone wallpaper!

I'm happy that you like it :)

Yes it's the Manticorian cruiser.
Even if, in the story, troops attack from another space ship.

But I wanted/needed to show all the components of the story on the cover.

See you soon, on the next one i'll try to draw Q-spaceships :)

Well it's hard to find a Honorverse Q-Ship. Today, i've found this one :

And another one but i've lost the link :(

It's very different from a military spaceship :)

They are, two of the books actually have a ship on the front, I'll take a look in my mini-library to figure out which ones,(US edition) that are merchant crafts.

Really nice work again Genkis, I'm only gonna say it on one.. despite 3 being published :)

What I really love about these though is that you take into account the other work that's been done visually and put your own spin on it to fit what you need it to.. All 3 of the recent ones look great.

Hello, Starfleet :)

Thank you for your congratulations. And yes, the more I work on the Honorverse, the more I try to keep in mind how fans know and like this universe.
It would not be cool if I try to change everything into my own vision of this world.

So I try to to do something new without betraying what the author has written in his novels. At the beginning I did my own spaceships. Some people like, others not. Now I try to be closer of Mr. weber's plans and I mix it with my own vision.

Have a nice week-end

Genkis
