But I don't understand because... when I look on the web I see that it's not a Weber's book. It was written by William H. Keith's novel...
Rising is my fave book though but i do like old soldier though alot
I'm happy that you like this illustration
The ships you draw are perfect! They have great details, look realistic enough to be real, and always add that dramatic flare that the US covers seem to be lacking.
And I wish the US covers would try their hand at illstrating the characters more. As much as I like the weird looking space station on the cover of the US Crown of Slaves... the next cover(Torch of Freedom) is more or less the same station by different artist. It's boring, and the cover wasn't exactly drawing me in when I bought it. It was more like a pain, because it looked so boring.
But enough with my rant...
You captured the expressions of Ruth and Berry really well. And I like Ruth's dress. It's so pretty, I want it. (In spite of the well known fact that I do not like dresses and prefer uniforms/ jeans over dresses... XP)
And only one question for this cover:
The two standing behind Ruth, Am I correct in assuming they are Victor and Thandi Palane?
On the next cover, you'll see some Q-ships. I hope that you'll like them. It was not easy to find plans of them on the web but i've found them, at last.
If you don't like dresses BUT you would like to have this one... well, i guess that it's the "supreme compliment"
And yes, you're right, they are Victor and Thandi Palane
Have a nice day
